Descriptions of Five Newly Confirmed Cases in Tainan City: Case #25431, 25437, 25589, 25639, 25863

On Apr. 7, Tainan City Government announced 5 newly confirmed cases.

Case #25431 is a male in his twenties living in Sinshih District who had received 3 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. He had contacted with New Taipei City’s Case #25149, 25150 and Pintung County’s Case #25436. On Apr. 4, he experienced throat illness and cough. On Apr. 5, he had a fever and tested positive by the rapid test; he then visited a hospital for specimen collection and was confirmed as a COVID-19 case by PCR with a Ct value of 12.9.

Case #25437 is a teenage girl living in Gueiren District who had received 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. She is a family member of Kaohsiung’s Case #25176. She had returned to her Kaohsiung’s home from Apr. 1 to Apr. 4. She experienced cough and sore throat on Apr. 5. On Apr. 6, she was identified to undergo home isolation since Case #25176 was confirmed as a COVID-19 case; after her specimen collection, she was also confirmed as a COVID-19 case with a Ct value of 16.7.

Case #25589 is a male in his twenties living in Shanhua District who had received 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. He had contacted with Tainan’s Case #25693 from Apr. 2 to Apr. 4. On Apr. 5, he experienced a sore throat. On Apr. 6, since he had a fever, he then visited a hospital for specimen collection and was confirmed as a COVID-19 case with a Ct value of 13.9.

Case #25639 is a male in his twenties living in East District who had received 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. He had contacted with Tainan’s Case #25589 from Apr. 2 to Apr. 4. On Apr. 4, he experienced a sore throat, runny nose and stuffy nose. On Apr. 6, he visited a hospital for specimen collection and was confirmed as a COVID-19 case with a Ct value of 24.

Case #25863 is a male in his fifties living in Madou District who had received 3 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. He attended the feast of Madou Bei Xuan Shrine on Apr. 2. He had the same footprint as Kaohsiung’s Case #24795. He had visited Kaohsiung from Apr. 4 to Apr. 6. Though he didn’t show symptoms, he still visited a hospital for specimen collection and was confirmed as a COVID-19 case with a Ct value of 34.9 on Apr. 6.

Footprints of the above-mentioned cases were listed in the attachment. The city government urges citizens who had visited the same place as these cases did to acquire a COVID-19 home-test kit with the ID card from any of 37 district health stations in Tainan City on Apr. 7 and Apr. 8 (08:00-12:00、13:30-17:30); please be sure to report the test result within 24 hours after acquisition.  Besides, Tainan City sets up community screening stations in South District, Madou District and Guanmiao District.
