On June 1, Tainan City Government announced a newly confirmed case (Case # 8617). The case, who is a female in her eighties, lives near by a family cluster (Case # 7318, #7319 and #7320) in Baihe District and had failed to wear a mask while contacting with these confirmed cases. Case # 8617 went to a hospital for specimen collection and testing on May 30, and then was confirmed as a COVID-19 case on May 31.
Case # 8617 usually sits and rests in front of her house due to the difficulty in moving; thereby no footprints are identified.
