Given that all childcare services are suspended between May 19 to May 28, working parents can apply for disease prevention family care or childcare leave, and employers should grant the leave under the following conditions:
1. For families with school children aged 12 or under, one of the parents/family caretakers can apply for disease prevention family care leave.
2. For families with children that hold the Disability Certification and study in junior or senior high school (including high school, vocational high school, or five-year junior college), one of the parents/family caretakers can apply for disease prevention family care leave.
3. For families with children studying in after-school programs (i.e. cram schools), kindergartens, or other educational facilities, if these facilities are shut down following the measures of all schools from high school and below, one of the parents/family caretakers can apply for disease prevention family care leave.
4. For families with babies and toddlers in nursery centers or home-based childcare services, since these facilities are shut down, one of the parents/family caretakers can apply for disease prevention family care leave.
Here, parents/family caretakers refer to parents, stepparents, child custody holders, or other main caretakers (such as grandparents).
In addition to disease prevention family care, working parents can also apply for regular family care leave, special leave, or personal leave.
