In considering the importance of disease prevention, Mayor Huang Wei-che announced that Tainan New Year’s Eve Concert will be staged online instead of the in person event

In the evening of December 30, Tainan City Government announced that Tainan New Year’s Eve Concert to be held on December 31 will all be staged online and citizens are not allowed to enter the venue. The city government thanks for citizens’ consideration for inconvenience caused as well as their supports to the disease prevention.
On December 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) confirmed that the teenager arriving from UK was infected by the mutant UK coronavirus strain, according to the result of gene sequencing. Mayor Huang Wei-che gave serious attention to this very first case of mutated COVID-19 variant found in Taiwan. As disease prevention of the utmost importance, Mayor Huang decided to cancel the in person concert so that it will only be available online.    
Mayor Huang addressed that even though the pandemic situation is well under control so far, the city government has the responsibility to protect the safety and health of Tainan citizen. Therefore, citizens are encouraged to safely stay at home and happily watch the live broadcast for New Year Countdown. 
The city government has listed the following options for citizens to enjoy the  live broadcast of Tainan New Year’s Eve Concert:

2. Internet Livestream: TVBS NEWs Youtube (18:30-00:00) 
3. Chunghwa Telecom Services: MOD and Hami Video (20:00-00:30)
