Descriptions of Four Newly Confirmed Cases in Tainan City: Case #21392, #21393, #21394, #21422

On Mar. 13, Tainan City Government announced four newly confirmed cases.

 

Case #21392 is a female in her forties living in Xinying District. She has received three doses of the vaccine. On Mar. 9, she started to have a fever and sore throat. On Mar. 11, since her symptoms didn’t improve, she used the at-home rapid test kit and the result was positive. She then went for a hospital and was confirmed as a COVID-19 case through PCR test with a Ct value of 14.5 on Mar. 12.

 

Case #21393 is a male in his seventies living in Danei District who hasn’t received any vaccine and showed no symptoms. His body condition doesn’t allow him to go out alone but he had contacted with the formerly announced Case #21262 in a hospital. He was identified to conduct specimen collection by the Public Health Bureau and was confirmed as a COVID-19 case with a Ct value of 32.02 on Mar. 12.

 

Case #21394 is a male in his fifties living in Guantian District who has received two doses of the vaccine. He is a colleague of Case #21297. On Mar. 11, he started to experience a cough, sore throat, runny nose and stuffy nose. On Mar. 12, Case #21297’s contacts received the screening; Case #21394 was confirmed as a COVID-19 case with a Ct value of 19.8.

 

Case #21422 is a male in his forties living in Xinying District who has received three doses of the vaccine. He is the husband of Case #21392. On Mar. 4, he once sought medical attention. From Mar. 7- Mar. 8, he experienced a runny nose, stuffy nose, joint soreness and diarrhea. He was identified to conduct home isolation and specimen collection on Mar. 12, since Case #21392 was confirmed as a COVID-19 case. Case #21422 was confirmed as a COVID-19 case with a Ct value of 19.5 on Mar. 13. His footprints are still being investigated.

 

The footprints of the above-mentioned cases are listed in the attachment. All the places are cleaned and disinfected. The city government urges citizens to acquire a COVID-19 home-test kit from the 37 health stations with the ID Card between Mar. 14 to Mar. 16.
