Descriptions of Two Newly Confirmed Cases of Tainan City: Case #18522, #18533

On Jan. 25, Tainan City Government announced the footprints of two newly confirmed cases. Case #18522, a female in her seventies who lives in West Central District, showed no symptoms and has completed her primary series vaccination. She had once stayed in a quarantine hotel to take care of her granddaughter; she was asked to undergo home isolation since her granddaughter was confirmed as a COVID-19 case. Case #18522’s specimen was collected prior to the end of her home isolation period and she was confirmed as a COVID-19 case on Jan. 24. This case fully abided by the home quarantine rules so there’s only a friend/relative of hers who helped delivering the meals is conducting self-health management.

Case #18533, a female in her fifties who lives in Shanhua District, is a contact of a confirmed case from Kaohsiung City. She started to experience a cough and a runny nose on Jan. 22 and had diarrhea on Jan. 23. Due to her contact history with a confirmed case, she was first tested positive by a COVID-19 home test kit. After that, she was referred to a hospital for specimen collection with the assistance of the Public Health Bureau; then she was confirmed as a COVID-19 case. All of her contacts are identified and their specimens are all collected.

Case #18522, #18533’s footprints are listed in the appendix.
